Dr. Merrill Asks some important questions of interest to New York residents - Chiropractor New York Dr. Merrill Asks...

What can a chiropractor do for asthma?
Many people think of chiropractic as exclusively dealing with the spine. But I'm interested in the spine because it covers the nervous system. Problems in the spine can produce problems in the organs and tissues controlled by the affected nerves—including those to the lungs and bronchial tubes. Find out how chiropractic care has helped those with asthma.
Why does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.

Your First Visit to Our New York Practice

Our patients often remark how warm and relaxed the office is.  You'll find we have designed the space to be comfortable and casual to make you feel at home.

New patients are warmly welcomed to our New York chiropractic office.
The Consultation

The purpose of our initial consultation is so we can get to know each other and determine if we can help.

We Listen

We will review your health history, in addition, to listening to your health concerns.  If we don't think we can help, we will tell you.

The Chiropractic Assessment

Our thorough Chiropractic examination might be very different than other health practitioners you have visited.  Our goal is to determine what areas of your spine and Nervous system are involved and related to any of your health challenges.  Range of motion tests, some orthopedic and neurologic tests, leg length analysis and static/motion palpation of your spine are common ways to analyze your "weak links" along the spine.

The Adjustment

In most situations, but, always based on the professional judgement of Dr. Rudin, you will receive your first Chiropractic spinal adjustment.  The first session can vary in time, depending on your history, however, you can plan on at least 30-45 minutes.
